Tech Barksdale offers an Associate of General Studies degree in nine different concentrations:

Computer Applications

History

Humanities

Mathematics

Political Science

Associate of General Studies Degree

English 101 and 102 6 Hrs Math 100 or higher 6 Hrs Computer Literacy (one of the following) CS 100 - Orientation to Computing MCS 246 - Microcomputers I or Approved Course 3 Hrs Arts (one of the following) Art 290 Music 290 or SpTh 290 3 Hrs Natural Science (one course in any of the following subjects) Chemistry Biology Geology Physics 6 Hrs Humanities (any two courses in the following subjects) English (excluding 101 and 102) History Philosophy Speech 3 Hrs Social Science (one course in any of the following subjects) Economics Geography Psychology Political Science Sociology 6 Hrs Concentration (see note 1) 15 Hrs Approved Electives (see note 2) 15 Hrs TOTAL 63 Hrs

Note 1: For specific requirements for a particular concentration, file a Plan of Study with a Tech academic advisor.

Note 2: Some electives may come from military experience, CLEP, or DANTES testing. See a Tech advisor for more details.

Admissions
Applications for admissions are available in the Louisiana Tech University Barksdale Program office or on line at http://www.latech.edu/admissions/undergrad_1.shtml.

Residence
The residence requirement for this degree is 16 hours. Residency may be completed anytime during the last half of degree requirements.

ACADEMICS
The following grade point averages are required for graduation: 2.5 in the concentration; 2.0 overall. No more than 18 hours of business courses may be counted for credit.
